Both you and Heidi did such a wonderful job hosting the reunion. It was perfect!!!! I know it took a great deal of work to set up and run. We had a fabulous time and it far exceeded our expectations (which were high).

As for my birthday surprise, it was a wonderful and thoughtful act that I truly appreciate.

I don't know if many of you know this, but for the past 35 years I have shared my birthday with my stepfather Austin Bach (we were both born on March 12th).  He passed away last June, so this was my first time going at it alone. It was very special having a room full of Pipers helping me through it.

Thank you, Liz for the cake and James for the wine.

You all have set the bar high for the next family gathering.

Piper Family Reunion March 2011

It is our hope that the decendents of George F Piper, and their families, will join us on Saturday March 12^th.

Our idea is to have it be informal, creating an opportunity for relatives to mingle and get to know each other. There will be a meeting Saturday morning to discuss the South Texas Syndicate Trust. After which there will be time for families to gather and get to know each other, and then we have a dinner event planned.

Santa Rosa is the gateway to the California wine country. There are a number of places to visit and things to see, here are a few suggestions.

March’s weather is unpredictable, could be sunny and warm or raining.

Saturday's Agenda, March 12th

We are very excited about the Piper Family reunion, it is a first for us and the response has been great. Our goal is to have as many of the decendents (including spouses/families) of George "Frank" Piper there as possible.


Our dinner is scheduled for 6:00 pm at Cattleman's Restaurant, close enough to walk from the Flamingo Hotel, and there will be a menu (no host) with different items from which to choose your meal.


Earlier in the day, 9:30-12:00 at the Flamingo Hotel, you will have an opportunity to meet with family members and discuss South Texas Syndicate (STS). Reviewing the status and current situation in Texas and what has been happening over the last couple of years...especially the discovery of the Eagleford.


We will post a list of activities and sites in and around Santa Rosa, there are plenty of things to do while in California's Wine Country. Most importantly, we want to have plenty of time to get to know our family members and share the family history.

One of the Remarkable Men of Garden City

The saga of the Piper heritage is far reaching and wide spread. We have scheduled a west coast gathering of "The Pipers" on March 11-13, 2011.

You are invited to attend

This will be a multigenerational gathering and an opportunity to meet Piper relatives from different parts of the country.

Saturday, March 12^th will be the primary day to gather. You are encouraged to come early and stay late, taking time to get to know your relatives. There will be an opportunity to meet with family members involved with the South Texas Syndicate (STS) earlier in the day, with a no host dinner in the evening.

All descendents of George F Piper are welcome so please pass this along to any other family members that should be invited.
